Good Practice Examples
The following projects, online courses, and materials available in Europe were critically analysed and evaluated by the EUROVOLT team with regard to these criteria:
- Relevance to the field of vocationally and professionally oriented language teaching and learning
- Target groups, contents matter, languages available
- Pedagogical approaches as well as particular strengths and innovative features
- Free availability via the Internet.

Projektverbund SprachChancen (2001 - 2007):
Language Learning and Teaching Online and blended learning courses for several languages and vocational fields (Czech, Chinese, English, Italian, Spanish), teacher training courses on the use of ICT; for language learners at German universities, language teachers and teacher trainers.

Language Teaching:
1. The ICT4LT website is a free collection of training modules in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for Language Teachers in English, Finnish, Italian, Swedish, the outcome of a project originally funded by the European Commission. All the training modules are continually revised and updated by Graham Davies. Good Practice01

Language Learning
1. EUROMOBIL Project, 1999 - 2007, for university students who plan an exchange or a year abroad; German, English and French programmes for advanced learners (monolingual); all other languages for beginners, with English as supportive language. Free downloads of intercultural and language learning programmes in English, German, Hungarian and Finnish already available; Czech, French, Polish, Portuguese, and Romanian will be added by December 31, 2007. 2. LINGUAPEACE Europe - Language for Peace Project (2004-2007) in English, Bulgarian, Slovak, Dutch for European peacekeepers, other personnel in conflict and post-conflict situations; Internet site, free sample materials, linked documents etc. Good Practice02

Lingu @net Europa - the multilingual centre for language learning (project 2004 - 2006) available in: Basque, Bulgarian, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Icelandic, Italian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish; Internet site, database, linked language learning resources. 4. AQUALINGUA PROJECT - The multilingual dictionary on the terms of the water sector; English; materials available in 15 European languagesin the dictionary database for engineers involved in co-operation projects, vocational language learners, pre- and in-service trainees. Good Practice04
5. SME in Dialogue (Small and Medium Enterprises in Dialogue, Leonardo supported 2003-2006); Czech learning materials for employees in small and medium-sized companies in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland; Polish learning materials also available on the Internet and on CD-Rom.
