Inger Langseth

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is one of the four state universities in Norway. It is a centre for technological education and research with a solid foundation in the natural sciences. This tradition is interwoven with broadly based expertise in the classical university disciplines of the humanities, medicine and the social sciences. Academic staff at NTNU collaborate on projects with researchers all over the world. They also work with national and international business and industry as well as with the Norwegian public authorities. There are programmes for teacher education (PLU) and for learning and ICT. Information- and communication technology used in teaching and learning is one of the research focus areas. Furthermore, there are institutes for the German, English and Roman languages. The NTNU Programme for teacher education (PLU) closely collaborates with local and national schools in different ways. Jens Haugan was the Norwegian EUROVOLT project co-ordinator until 2006, then he was succeeded by Inger Langseth. NTNU co-operates and collaborates in developing the EUROVOLT teacher trainer modules (especially with NFK and it`slearning), and they are also responsible for online tutoring.

Inger Langseth has been working as a foreign language teacher at a secondary school in Trondheim, Norway, for about twenty years. She teaches French and English. For ten years by now, she has also been working in teacher education at the NTNU where she teaches French teacher students. She has participated in several international educational projects and has been involved in the development of the European Language Portfolio in Norway.
