They have a very distinctive approach to the learning & teaching of Modern Languages at Southampton: Modern Languages was awarded the top grade (5* European Studies) in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise; dedicated teachers, who want you to share their enthusiasm for their subject; an innovated and flexible curriculum (including applications of new methodolgy and didactics), allowing students to chose what to study; a language learning programme based on your level of proficiency, not on your year of study; excellent facilities and resources for study and research, and an attractive working environment.
